Ana in the Quiz Builder

Ana is the AI assistant in ShopperQuiz. Inside the Quiz Builder she can build and edit your quiz for you while you chat: add questions and answers, assign votes, set filters, price ranges and skip or jump logic, change fonts and colours, and check that every shopper gets recommendations. She can also give advice, like a quiz expert sitting beside you.

Everything Ana changes shows up in the builder straight away, but nothing goes live until you click Save.

Opening Ana

In the Quiz Builder, click Ask Ana in the top bar, or Ask Ana AI in the sidebar — while you're in the builder, both open Ana as your builder. She opens in a panel on the right of the editor (on smaller screens, as a drawer over the page). Click either button again, or the close button in her panel, to hide her. If you close the panel while she is working, she carries on and finishes the request.

Each quiz has its own conversation. It is kept in your browser, so it is still there when you come back to the quiz on the same device. Click New chat at the top of the panel to start fresh.

On every other page, Ask Ana AI in the sidebar opens the regular Ana chat for help with setup, integrations, billing and anything else in ShopperQuiz. That chat is free on every plan and does not use AI credits. You can also ask builder-Ana those questions; she answers briefly, using credits like any other request.

What Ana can do

Just describe what you want, in your own words. Ana reads your quiz and your real product catalog (names, prices, collections and tags) before she changes anything.

Build

  • Build a complete quiz from your products, or add questions one at a time
  • Write answers and assign votes to products, collections, tags or all products, with sensible weights
  • Turn questions into filter questions or a budget filter and give each answer its collections, tags or price range
  • Set up multiple-select questions, a "None of these" answer, sections, and skip or jump logic
  • Pin or exclude products on an answer, and use negative votes
  • Reorder, edit or delete questions and answers

Design

  • Change colours, fonts, sizes, spacing and button styles across the welcome screen, questions and results screen
  • Write the welcome and results text
  • Add pictures to answers: built-in line icons, images from your image library, or your product photos
  • Set the welcome image and logo
  • Write custom CSS when a setting doesn't exist for what you want

Check and advise

  • Run the Quiz check and fix what it finds
  • Pretend to be a shopper: pick answers and see which products would be recommended
  • Look at how votes are spread across your products, and point out products that can never be recommended
  • Answer questions like "What makes a great product quiz?" or "Should this be a filter or a vote?"

As Ana works, each change appears as a short step in the chat (for example "Added Q3: How often do you wash your hair?"). Click a step to jump to that part of the quiz. The editor also follows along and briefly highlights what she just changed.

Example requests

  • Build a complete quiz from my products.
  • Add a budget question that fits my prices, with no gaps between the ranges.
  • On "What are you shopping for?", turn on Filter question and set each answer to the matching collection.
  • Give every answer on Q2 an icon in the same style.
  • Restyle the quiz: clean, minimal and modern, with my brand colour #1F6F5C.
  • Check that every shopper gets product recommendations, and fix anything that ends with no results.
  • Pretend you're a shopper who wants a hoodie under $50. What do they get?

The more specific you are, the better: name the question ("Q3" or its text), the answer and what should happen.

Saving and undoing

Ana's changes stay unsaved until you save, exactly like changes you make yourself. While there are unsaved changes, a Save changes button appears under Ana's latest reply, and the chat box shows how many changes are waiting. Clicking it, or any Save button in the builder, saves everything you and Ana changed in one go: questions, answers, sections, the welcome and results screens, quiz settings and custom CSS.

  • Undo appears under Ana's latest reply when she changed something. It puts the quiz back exactly as it was before that reply, even if you already saved. Undo disappears as soon as you edit the quiz yourself afterwards, so it never throws away your own work.
  • If you reload or leave the builder before saving, the browser warns you first. Unsaved changes are lost if you leave anyway; the conversation is kept.
  • If a save fails (for example your connection drops), a red note appears at the top of the editor and the changes stay unsaved on screen, so you can click Save again.

Ana asks before she deletes anything or makes very large changes, and she never publishes your quiz. Setting a quiz live is always your decision.

Attaching images

On the Starter plan and above you can attach up to 6 images to a message: click the attach button in the chat box or paste images straight in. They are added to your image library with an AI description, and Ana can then use them as answer pictures, the welcome image or the logo. For example, attach your logo and say "Use this as the quiz logo."

AI credits

Ana in the builder uses AI credits, based on how much work each request takes. As a rough guide:

RequestCredits
A small edit (rename an answer, change a colour)2–8
A new question with answers and votes10–25
A review of the whole quiz15–40
Building a full quiz from scratch100–200, over a few requests

Before a job that will probably use more than about 50 credits, Ana tells you roughly how many and asks before starting.

Your credits left are shown at the top of Ana's panel and in Settings → Plan & Billing. If you run out, Ana tells you when your credits reset and how to get more.

Good to know

  • Ana can make mistakes. Look over her changes, run the Quiz check and preview the quiz before you save and set it live.
  • Ana only changes the quiz that is open. She can't change your store, your products or other quizzes.
  • One request can use up to 100 credits. If a request reaches that limit, Ana stops and you can ask her to continue.
  • Very long conversations eventually can't continue. Click New chat to start a fresh one; your quiz is unaffected.
